Work in progress - my flora collection!

I slowly and steadily keep musing and making pieces for my flora collection. It all started from going to the Getty museum in Los Angeles, and ended up becoming a wearable art piece named "Tropical Garden" Earrings, which is btw already out for you get ASAP!:)))
What I really love about them is their vivid color and awesome texture.
This time I concentrated more on the texture and subtle color variations, similar to ones one can see on french paintings and the muted vintage inspired european fashion shows.
You get the first sneak peak! Soo this is still work in progress inspired by gorgeous pink lilies, wrapped in crystals and warm lacquered copper:

Flooded with new beautiful things all around me

I'm stocked about some of the accessories I recently got! Well, two in particular I can't take off me and can't take my eyes off:)
Workshop at South Tahoe led to a halfo of an hour shopping in a aeroport jewelry shop. I wish we had one like this in Maryland! everything for 10$ - and boy, they had lots of flirty and cheerful peices!
I ended up buying this golden bracelet with caramel enamel with pure crystals. The secret of its appeal is the shape - elliptical, so it sits on the wrist like it was there since my birth date!not falling off, catching the clothes or irritating during motion - it's so smooth, so spot on perfect!

Another piece is my Birthday gift (ahhh!..:)). I try this ring probably every single evening, but I don't dare to wear it. Its preciousness and grandiosity are intimidating. What if I loose it? What if I scratch it? What if?...

Dangerous liaisons

People and situations are starting to have a stronger influence on me that before. Though it may be just a stressful state of affairs around me, recent changes in life and jiggling bunch of tasks around.
Nevertheless I bought 4 dresses and some other clothing right before going to bed on Saturday. And not just some dresses, I shoped at a expensive luxury online store. No kidding, that order was out of my budget. Not dept creating purchase, but definitely zero savings kinda purchase.
How did that happen? - I asked myself on Sunday. The term "emotional shopping" sounded like a joke for me till that weekend. It felt daunting, but it was necessary to rationalize how things like that can happen without internal error message popping up "getting out of controool! Slow down, Lady!"
We talked with a friend about shopping that evening, we shared our views on "beautiful" vs "functional" dresses, exchanged links for shopping, and.. oh yeah, meanwhile we rewatched 6 episodes of SATC !..
Guilty pleasure leads to guilty behavior, ha...
I guess it gets comical before it gets scary. Maybe that's why I am a bit afraid of clowns, the exaggerated colorful smiling faces, that are fixed with elusive real persona hiding behind all that paint. Looks flashy and funny, but you feel there is something not that smiley and very different secluded in there. I guess not being able to critically see the dynamics of one's environment should feel similar.

The good thing is I learned a lesson: never combine all guilty pleasures in one night, especially after tiresome day.
The bad things is... I got my dresses today.
and I love every single one of them....
I hoped so much some of them wouldn't fit or would be not as shown online, or the wrong size, or cheap fabric or etc. Actually they are very much what I expected. So luxury shopping experience is sort of addictive, now I see why.

Color inspired collages

They are so easy and fun to make! Since the collage style usually implies the superiority of the color and image quality over the idea\product itself, it becomes crucial to have stellar photos of one's craft\art\work.
I hope this treasury list I recently posted on Etsy will aesthetically please your eyes!:))

The best small to medium size dogs is..

..Swedish Vollhand!
Ok, I am obsessing a little bit, but look at it!.. isn't this the most real yet cute dog breed ever?
It is no toy-lap-couch-potato, it is not crazy as some hyperactive breeds. It's just..smart, active, friendly, healthy, balanced, playful and.. ahh....
It reminds me of german shepherd a lot. it's like a big dog in a small body.
However, and here the dramatic point. Swedish vollhands are so rare in united states and oh-so expensive!
I wish I could get one some time in future, because it's such a wonderful...ok,ok. I shut up :)

Surprise, surprise!

If you've ever visited my Etsy shop you saw the free earrings deal I put there from time to time.
Frankly, it is boring to make the same stuff every time just to be consistent with the online postings.
I figured it is boring for my clients too, since once if they've got free dangling cuties, they are basically don't need another version again.
Also I have a weak spot for little surprises, and I know many of you do too:))
It is somewhat silly yet so amazing to open a long-awaited package and issue a relieved sigh if the order is true to size, color and quality.. and then... squeak with excitement after spotting something else hidden there!
Ohhh those moments make long hours of the shopping and debating "do i need this?.." worth it!
Ssssooo now I have a special offer in my shop: Surprise Earrings!
The setup is - you can ask for certain metal+color or wait for a complete surprise!
I promise to send you something: cute, colorful and well-made!

One more reason to like Two's Ruse Facebook page

Posting an item at the online market like Etsy or Artfire is not such a speedy proccess I must say.
Therefore, sometimes there are weeks and months between me actually making a piece and putting it our on twosruse.etsy.com
However, posting a picture with a short description is relatively easy and fast.
So I started doing presale showings on my Fb page.
The result was that sometimes a jewelry piece would sell way before it makes it to the online shop!
For example, here is my baroque inspired design with vintage frames and fresh water pearls.
It has been sold almost immediately after posting this pic on www.facebook.com/twosruse

So if you wanna be the first one to see the freshest and best designs - click "Like" on my Fb page, so you don't miss out!;))

Let's get this party started!

I recently came across the fact that I did not have any bright and dressy earrings to go out. Obviously I have ton of jewelry, and keep getting and making more, and yet...
something was missing.
So I bought some absolutely stunning baroque-inspired components, light-weight and shiny acrylic, glass abd gemstone beads and... basically played a lot with them all!
See what appeared in the result:)

Peach days are coming

It is always very flattering in a ticklish way to be featured in the thematic treasuries.
Today I was thrilled to notice that it is the second time in a week when my works are featured in the Peach color inspired collages. Well, it is a fashion trend apporaching or.. I am such a peach lover that everybody sees right through me:)))
Check out these cuties and think about what color do you want to feature in your wardrobe;)

My favorite baby:)

I was drawing and drawing, waisting paper and losing patience. And not a  single idea of one curve that will look aesthetic and eye captivating was not coming to me.
Accidently I dropped the sketch book, looked sideways, glanced back.. and it was there - in the intersections of other lines and shapes.
Then a long and meditative play with colors and beads, adding up, editing down, here and there...
And here is my absolute favorite creation at the moment - Quaint Lantern Earrings!
I hope you like them as much as I do:)

Harry Potter sorrow

Not that I always loved Harry Potter. To be honest at first I wasn't even interested, to be frank not at all.
Looking at the bits of HP movies here and there I got an impression these are kids books, little boys and girls running around with wonds in a whimsical world with white and black characters.
Then my good friend who happens to be fond of HP gave me a whole lecture on how many personal, psychological and moral themes these books raise.
And there it started...
First we watched all the movies one by one, then when many details still appeared to unclear, I got all 7 books in audible format. This was the best audiobook listening experience I have EVER EVER had!
Stephen Fry is genious in impersonating and creating a flowing narration that is impossible to pause.
However I know I would not be able to read all those books, i would get too bored and tired of sitting. And also these books are more about action and themes than exemplary or stylistically elaborated literature.
So I lived with these audiobooks and Stephen Fry's voice for two months. Harry Potter world entered my own, and any spare time I spent hugging my mp3 player and listening to some more Harry Potter.
Happy, dreamy times...

And now it's over. I have to confess I am suffering a painful Harry Potter withdrawal.
It feels like some big part of my life was cut out or a family member died.
Movies, other books, internet surfing - nothing is as interesting as those audio books were.
A week passed and I feel no better.
Ahh...Harry Potter world...will I ever get over your wonderful so welcoming presence?...
P.S.: aaand yeah...I did develop a little crush on Snape..))
