I'm still on the search for perfect metallic nail polishes. I showed you one pretty outstanding in finish and horrendous in formula rose metallic one by Sephora+Pantone.
This time we've got China Glaze Swanky Silk. This is definitely more warm and complex shade, since it is a duochrome afterall:)
The duo crhome effect is subtle and not loud, which makes it a very appropriate intriguing shade for formal\business environment, as well as a posh twist on classic golden metallic shade in any other occasion.
Green Gold shimmery base has a pink glow, which makes it less acid and poisonous looking, and adds a little bit of warmth and allure to the overall finish.
Application- wise it is a sheer nail polish. To make pictures for this post I put a base (opi nail envy), one medium to thin coat, and after 5 minuted break, a medium thick 2nd layer.
Generally I would say it is a 3 coats nail polish, if you want a full on opacity, intense color and duochrome effect.
One can also see the strokes, which is not a very good feature, but they are not too annoying.
Overall, I'm pleased with the results, but this is not an easiest manicure fix, due to the sheerness and visible strokes. Also I'm not often in the mood for such intence green shade of gold, for some people it might be a turn off, and for some a God sent Gift:))
I got this shade from Sally Beautry Supply on clearance for ~3.5$, which is pretty nice deal:)
Do you like these kind of acid duochromes?
Kisses, Maria TwosRuse.
